Hello, and welcome. I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist. For 25 years I have mainly worked with children and teenagers, but I also welcome working with adults. It can be difficult to understand our own emotions, especially if we are young, but working with a therapist can enable us to develop an emotional vocabulary and begin to understand our feelings and how they are preventing our wellbeing. Often we become overwhelmed and end up suppressing our emotions until eventually they become too difficult. Therapy provides a safe space to explore these feelings and build communication skills and emotional resilience.
For adults it is a chance to unlock those painful memories that we may have buried and begin the healing process. Therapy shouldn’t be scary, and I always try to bring warmth and humour into the work I do. I feel strongly that we all deserve a little nurturing occasionally and feeling at ease with your therapist is essential for the healing process.
Therapy is tailored to suit everyone I work with, from face to face talking therapy to play therapy or online sessions, the needs of the individual client always come first.
