Hi, I'm Anita (MBACP), a qualified Counsellor, supporting adults who are experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, stress, loss, abusive relationships and trauma. Offering a confidential safe space to feel accepted, heard, understood and in connection. Connection is key towards forming trust. I am non-directive, motivating autonomy by exploring your own choices, and attuning to your gut instinct. Person-Centred encourages self-esteem and self-worth, through empowerent. I am interested in supporting people to be able to live a life to their best potential.
My skills have developed through ongoing awareness of the Polyvagal Theory of the Autonomic Nervous System, (ANS) which explores the automatic reactions to stressful or threatening environments. I can offer psycho-education for an understanding of how trauma impacts the nervous system and how to shift states, to provide a choice of responses.
You are not alone and can find support to help you to understand yourself and move forward to start living your life. Valuing your worth and gaining self-confidence in your ability to choose what options and responses are best for you. Taking care of your own needs is not selfish but being selfless can cause you distress. Counselling for positive change.
