Hi, I'm Anita (MBACP), a qualified Counsellor, supporting you with emotional and psychological distress. Offering an empathetic understanding and confidential space with you, letting you feel safe enough to explore your issues. Connection is key to forming a relationship, where trust can build. Person-Centred Counselling, is non-directive and gives you freedom to explore your own choices and gain a sense of autonomy and agency. This approach encourages self-esteem and self-worth, through empowerent. I work from a compassionate and empathetic view, to understand you.
My skills have developed through ongoing awareness of the Polyvagal Theory of the Autonomic Nervous System, (ANS) which explores the automatic reactions to stressful or threatening environments. I can support you to become aware of your own nervous state and how to shift states, giving you a choice of response.
You are not alone and can find support to help you to understand yourself and move forward to start living your own life. Valuing your worth and gaining self-confidence in your ability to choose what options and responses are best for you. Taking care of your own needs, and not putting others first, may take time, but with support, you can do it.
