I provide counselling from my private practice at my home in Melksham, Wiltshire. This is a private room providing a safe and confidential space for our work together. I can offer various daytime and evening appointments throughout the week. My training helps me to provide you with a reliable, regular, non-judgmental space where you can begin to talk about whatever is on your mind. I work in what is called an integrative way, using a wide range of therapeutic models, but primarily focusing on humanistic counselling.
This means I start with a basic belief in your potential to heal and grow, with my role helping you to achieve that potential. I also work psychodynamically, as I believe that your past experiences have an effect on your present reality, in a way that you may not even be aware of.
I help by focusing on the relationship between us, bringing the way you relate to others to your awareness and facilitating your understanding of yourself, providing healing and change. I also use other approaches in my work such as transactional analysis, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational enhancement therapy.
