At theses time we need a helping hand to make sense of and overcome a painful past or a troubling present and look toward a more hopeful and meaningful future. At my comfortable clinic in Eastbourne I offer a warm, empathic and confidential service for adults experiencing a broad range of difficulties using a breadth of proven, evidence-based approaches.

I feel very passionately about the positive effect that therapy can have upon peoples lives. Over the years I’ve worked with a range of challenges that people can experience. Working through pain or difficulties together is a process I find very rewarding. Often people will arrive being unsure what to expect and feeling apprehensive about what is to come. My approach is to create a welcoming, warm and confidential space where together we can gain an understanding of your situation. I am trained to draw from several therapeutic models so we can find a way forward that suits your preferences and goals for change.

I am a fully qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and psychotherapist with 20 years experience, specialising in the psychodynamic approach. I work from modern, comfortable rooms in Brighton and Hastings as well as offering online sessions via Zoom. I believe that we are all influenced by our experiences and relationships in the past, as well as those we have in the present, and most importantly the relationship we have with ourselves. Past relationships and experiences can impact the way we manage stress and cope with difficulties, it also can impact the way we respond to others and our own self-esteem.

I have many years’ experience of working with stress, trauma, self-identity, depression, domestic abuse relationship problems, self-esteem, emotional abuse, anger management, post traumatic stress disorder, self-harm, addiction, loss, bereavement, sexual abuse, sexuality, anxiety, low self confidence, personality disorders and spirituality.
Hi I am person centred counsellor, this means I accept and support you to explore ways to help you overcome any uncomfortable or traumatic emotions you may be experiencing. Sometimes we have experiences in life that can be overwhelming or we just can’t make sense of the events that may have happened to us. Many people may need answers from others and this may never happen, therefore exploring these questions within in a safe place can allow us to have acceptance to help start the healing process and give us back a sense of empowerment.

Hi there, I am a Clinical Psychologist who has worked within the field of psychology for over 10 years. This experience has spanned across a variety of mental health services, working with adults, children, and families to support with a range of difficulties including anxiety, depression, anger, disordered eating, school refusal and attachment/relational difficulties. These difficulties may have only just become an issue for you or you may have struggled with these difficulties for a longtime. I like to work within a trauma informed framework, whereby we consider ‘what has happened to you’ rather than ‘what is wrong with you’.

I've been conducting therapies with adults and adolescents both Turkish and English. I mostly use CBT and Mindfulness to help my clients. I work on anxiety, depression, anger management, social anxiety, health anxiety, relationship problems as well as other mental health problems. When necessary, I use Solution Focused Therapy techniques which help patients to see their strong sides to achieve the desired goals and some Art Therapy techniques so that my clients can open up easier and see the things they are not aware of.

Anger Management Counsellors
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
