This is about you and I'm here to listen sensitively as we work together in a confidential setting so you feel you can talk openly and freely. It is about a therapeutic relationship as I offer emotional warmth and respect, encouraging you to explore what has brought you to counselling. To offer an empathic understanding is about you knowing I am on the journey with you making sense of what is happening but being guided by your direction of what is important for you to bring to the session.
I am the counselling coordinator at Bluebell wood Children's Hospice and have been for 10 years, working with adults, young people and children specialising in bereavement and loss. I have also worked at St. Johns Hospice. For 5 years I worked in children's centres and this brought a diverse client base. I was awarded Council Worker of the Year 2012.
Counselling can help you to understand life experiences and explore your thoughts in a safe environment. My 16 years of clinical experience can help you to find new ways of coping and making life more manageable for you.
