I am a HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with children and young people across educational and charitable settings. I offer a safe, supportive space where children can explore their emotions, experiences, and inner world through the creative process.
Children often find it difficult to articulate how they feel using words alone. Art therapy provides an alternative, non-verbal means of expression, allowing thoughts and feelings to emerge naturally through image-making and creative play. These expressions can then be safely explored and understood within a contained therapeutic relationship.
My practice is grounded in a psychodynamic approach, with a strong emphasis on building a trusting and consistent therapeutic relationship. Sessions are child-led, enabling each young person to explore the issues that are most important and meaningful to them in their own time and at their own pace.
I support children with a range of emotional needs, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, low self esteem and family difficulties. I have particular experience of working with children and young people who are neurodivergent. Regular parent reviews support a joined-up approach.
