About
I think sometimes we just reach that place in life when we say 'enough is enough'. For some it can mean it is time to stop and face something, and to someone else it can mean it is maybe time to 'let it go'. There's no end to the potential meanings for reaching 'that point'. i think we've all been there at some stage or another. Does this sound familiar ? That's okay, i totally understand where you're coming from. What is important is acknowledging that you have had the energy and motivation to seek someone to support you through this - it takes courage and strength to take this step. Well done!
I offer both individual and couple therapy and am trained and qualified in both to iapt standard (NICE approved). I am a registered member of the BACP so work within a respected framework that is underpinned with research, theory and experience. I also offer DESIST therapy to potential/actual offenders via the StopSO website.
Bottom line, my view is that there is good in all of us at some level. People or circumstance may hurt or damage us, and sometimes we withdraw, shut-down, or become angry and bitter. Some respond by reacting, or withdrawing, drinking, smoking, being angry.. but usually it is the unresolved hurt that fuels the behaviour - and we CAN look at that together...
