About
I have a particular interest and extensive knowledge regarding supporting those who have experienced early life developmental and complex trauma, separation and loss. Often these experiences continue to impact on our lives and abilities to make and sustain healthy and emotionally secure relationships in adulthood. Although psychoanalytically trained my clinical practice uses a range of therapeutic approaches and is predominately informed by attachment based theory. I can offer both short and longer term therapeutic support to individuals, couples and groups.
I am here to help you make sense of earlier experiences and to gain a better understanding of yourself and your relationships with others, creating the opportunity to develop more appropriate ways to express and communicate your thoughts and feelings.
It is important that you feel both understood and ‘held in mind’ by a therapist who is will be along side you as you begin to explore and make sense of the experiences that have brought you to therapy. This is why I recognise the importance of adopting a empathetic and compassionate approach to my work. I look forward to working with you.

Amanda Jane Carpenter's Groups
On line weekly psychotherapy group
The intention of the group is to provide longer term therapy and support for those who continue to experience on going difficulties regarding attachment, developmental and complex trauma, separation and loss. Prior to joining the group I do advise that there is a period of individual therapy sessions completed so that I can assess that group psychotherapy is the most appropriate therapeutic intervention to meet your needs.
