Welcome. Life can be tough. Sometimes we simply need to talk with someone who can listen without judgement; who does not 'give advice' but holds the space for personal reflection, growth and development. As a registered and accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), I am an independent, experienced and professional counsellor / psychotherapist, an approved Adoption counsellor and qualified in EMDR therapy. I work with young people and adults, including couples and families, across such issues as anxiety, bereavement, depression, relationships and trauma.
I use an integrative approach, along with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness, which focuses primarily on the relationship between client and therapist. This is built around trust, respect, safety and empowerment. Kindness and compassion are fundamental. My work is client led as only you know how you feel.
Certain counselling styles suit some people more than others, so I draw from a number of models to provide the right support for you. All ages, gender, race, religion or sexuality are welcome and will be treated with dignity and respect. I always welcome a brief chat over the phone and offer an initial meeting to talk through what you are looking for.
