I believe that the 3 most common reasons leading people to seek therapy are Anger, Sadness & Belief System. This belief system could be one you were taught by somebody else or one you have created that is not serving you, for example feeling that you are not enough or that you are unloveable. I offer safety and support with the unbearable. I provide guidance in your discovery and unpacking of baggage. I use creative methods: art, body work, play therapy and nature.
The Gestalt Approach is a talk therapy with particular principles. Such as "here and now focus". Whether you go back to the past or look to the future we focus on how this connects to now for you. And "naming the obvious". This can be patterns, narratives, connections and associations that you may or may not be aware of. Creativity, expression, awareness.
The first session is getting a sense of how we might work together. I will listen and ask supporting and guiding questions. Once we have established trust I will suggest creative methods when I think it would help in the moment. Such as art, play, writing. The voice, movement and body sensations. The body remembers what the mind doesn't want to.
