About
Choosing a professional to help you with your struggles can be a stressful process. Many people have heard of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy but aren’t sure what it involves, and don’t know whether they need CBT, counselling or something else. That’s not a problem - I will provide an initial phone call to answer questions, listen to your concerns and discuss with you what you are looking for. My first session by video call involves an assessment of your current difficulties from the perspective of a trained mental health professional, and working with you to establish whether CBT or counselling would be most beneficial for you.
I qualified as a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology in 2008, after a 1 year NHS placement and MSc in Psychological Therapy accredited by the BPS. Having also worked as a CBT Therapist in the NHS, I’ve helped many clients return to work after mental health absences. I’m a member of the BABCP and attend regular Continuing Professional Development events.
I see clients with a variety of problems, and provide CBT and counselling that is individualised according to your current needs. This may include CBT for depression, anxiety, panic, stress, low self esteem, anger, OCD, trauma, PTSD, work-place conflict, pain and addictions. I’m experienced in adapting therapy for clients who have dyslexia, ADD and autism.
