Watching your child struggle is one of the hardest things a parent can go through. Maybe they've been anxious or low, withdrawn, or struggling with big feelings that spill over at home. Perhaps school feels overwhelming, friendships have become difficult, or they've been through a change, a loss or a tough time that they're finding hard to talk about. Or perhaps you just sense that something isn't quite right.
I'm Ali, a UKCP-registered Child and Adolescent Counsellor, trained to Masters level, working with children, teenagers and young adults. I have lots of experience working with young people of all ages.
Every young person is different, so I tailor my approach to them. Some like to talk things through. Others find it easier to use art, sand tray or play to express what's hard to put into words.
You matter too. I can support you as a parent, if that feels right for you, so that positive change happens for the whole family.
My aim is to provide a warm, supportive space where children and young people feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings at their own pace. the room is warm and welcoming. Creativity and play can help, but if they simply want to talk, that’s fine too. If this feels like the right support, I’d be very happy to hear from you.
