My name is Ali — I’m a multidisciplinary artist and Integrative Arts Psychotherapist. I work individually with pre-teens, teenagers, and adults who, for whatever reason—diagnosed or not—are struggling to make it through the day. Whether you are a rational thinker who's intellectualizing no longer works or an artist creatively blocked, I draw upon my experience as an artist and psychotherapist to help you nurture the ability to play, create, and discover the choice-making child within you; a child unburdened by the story of your experiences and one who is able to turn pain into beauty.
Our here and now relationship, and the trust, and humour we harness, are at the heart of this process. I’ll invite you to tune into your body—its movements, shapes, and gestures—and together, we’ll explore what they might be communicating. This can sometimes prove challenging which is why we'll move gently, at a pace that feels right for you.
Our work begins with a six-week assessment, followed by twelve-week reviews—a structure that keeps momentum. The assessment helps us see if we’re a good fit and if art therapy is right for you. If another clinician or approach would better meet your needs, I can provide a referral.
