I'm Dr Alexandra Barnett, a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 15 years of clinical experience working in the NHS, private healthcare, and my own practice.
I work with adults, children and young people experiencing a wide range of mental health and emotional difficulties — including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, life transitions, trauma, women's health difficulties (postnatal depression, perimenopause and menopause), loneliness, burnout and perfectionism.
My approach is integrative — drawing on CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy, trauma-informed practice and mindfulness, selecting what's most appropriate for you specifically.
I'm also the creator of the REWIRE neuroplasticity programme — a six-module, evidence-based programme built on the science of how the brain actually changes.
I offer therapy online via secure video and face to face in Telford, Shropshire. I also accept insurance through BUPA, AXA, Aviva and Vitality.
