I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a background in education and in yoga/fitness teaching. Clients bring a wide variety of issues to cognitive behavioural therapy sessions, such as anxiety, depression, panic -attacks and low self-esteem, for example, and many of their goals include, learning, how to relax, breathe properly, meditate, exercise and find self-compassion. Therefore, by collaborating together and combining some of my skills with each client's goals, positive change happens. I have experience with adults, young people and children, as I counsel within school. My approach is warm, welcoming, and empathic
I can help you to explore and make sense of the thoughts, emotions and behaviours which are preventing your situation from changing. We can establish any factors and challenges that you are facing, in a non-judgemental and compassionate way. Sessions are collaborative, practical and creative, to ensure that all of your individual needs are met.
Making the initial step to begin counselling can be daunting, however a good therapeutic relationship is built on understanding, empathy, attention, acceptance and encouragement, along with good communication. With this in mind, think about therapy as learning a new skill, adopting new habits and being able to find new ways of moving in this world.
