Hi, my name is Debbie. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. If you are reading you have already taken the first step...I provide counselling for children, young people, adults. I also provide support for families to meet their identified needs. I work with many presenting issues, such as; anxiety, abuse, loss & bereavement, isolation, depression, exploitation, low mood, relationships, self harm, self worth, stress and many others. I also provide Clinical Supervision to therapists and practitioners. Additional to this I provide EAP Counselling. When individuals seek counselling they have identified that they no longer want to feel sad, lonely, hurt, struggling with day to day life. They want to feel well again, feel happy & positive, be able to focus and plan for the future, improve their wellbeing...
I am an a Integrative Counsellor. This means that I primarily use Person-centred theory and additional theories, such as Solution focused, CBT, Psychodynamic. I have worked with CYP & Families for over 20 years providing support/implementing strategies/improving their wellbeing. This has given me invaluable experience and knowledge which enhances my role as a therapist in the counselling room.
I am a caring, emphathic individual in my personal and professional life.. I am a Counsellor who believes in the process and what I do. It is very difficult and also brave to seek counselling or support... but throughout my experience and learning each day as a therapist ‘you’ do this because ‘you’ want to improve your life, ‘you’ dont want feel like this anymore.. ‘you’ want to have choices, be able to make decisions. At times ‘you’ feel that nothing is ever going to change. By working together, building a trusting and transparent relationship as therapist & client this can happen.
