I have an MPsychpsych (6-year postgraduate training) and I am registered with the Association of Child Psychotherapists (ACP), for work with children and young people up to the age of 25, as well as parents, carers and professionals. I have 20 years of experience working with children and families, including clinical and leadership positions within the NHS and in many mainstream and specialist schools. Most recently, running a specialist CAMHS service within the NHS in West London and as a Visiting Lecturer on Postgraduate mental health courses at the Tavistock & Portman.
I work in a warm, sensitive and thoughtful way to understand the individual experiences, difficulties and emotional resources of those I work with. I treat a broad range of emotional, behavioural and relational difficulties and focus on uncovering and understanding the thoughts and feelings underlying any difficulties or patterns in relationships.
I offer a free telephone consultation to address any initial questions you have and so that you can get a sense of whether we are a good fit. I then begin with a thorough initial assessment (as you would get in an NHS service). On the basis of this, I can then offer further assessment, brief or long term therapies and therapeutic parent support.
