Hi, I’m Abi. I’m an accredited, experienced, trauma-informed Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Supervisor. My work is person-centred and informed by IFS, but most importantly, I believe that you are the expert on you.
There is no level of sadness, anxiety or distress you need to reach before therapy is “for you”. Our experiences and responses are unique, so the way through them will be personal too. We can’t change what has happened, but we can explore the ways the past continues to shape how you feel, your relationships and the choices you make today.
However difficult things may feel, I’ll be alongside you with compassion, curiosity and, at times, gentle challenge. I draw on IFS, somatic awareness and other therapeutic approaches, adapting our work to what you need rather than expecting you to fit a particular model. We’ll work collaboratively, at a pace that feels manageable and at the speed of trust.
I know from my own experience that even looking for a therapist can feel like a big step. If looking is as far as you get today, that’s okay. Trusting a stranger with the things that matter to you can take time. If something here feels like it might fit, I’d love to hear from you.
