Hello, I'm Abi. I am not going to guess why you are considering counselling. Everyone's reasons for seeking support are varied and unique to them. You are looking here, and that is the first step to trying it out. Counselling needs to be experienced to see if it works for you. We can work together to safely unravel any difficulties, challenges, or confusions to help you gain a better understanding of yourself, your values and priorities. I believe that enhancing your self-compassion and knowing yourself better can be the gateway to a more fulfilling and content life. Counselling with me can give you an opportunity to do that.
Am I the right counsellor for you? I am a qualified, experienced, integrative therapeutic counsellor registered with the BACP, whose ethical and moral guidelines shape how I practice. All sessions are about what is best for you, and are led by you with me alongside. I support adults and young people over age 11 and I am also a school counsellor.
My style is relaxed and informal whilst holding professional boundaries to keep the relationship safe. My person-centred approach will help you to become your inner expert, and to be able to identify your needs for yourself. We will create a space together in our sessions that is private, calm, non-judgemental, and warm to enable you to do this.
