A programmer once reminded us that an algorithm is just
an opinion embedded in a code.
So imagine computer programs that preselect job applicants.
The many inbred biases and quirks of that program will then be exercised inadvertently thousands of time for thousands of applicants or hundred thousands of applicants.
All along companies thinking the whole process is
"objective".
Our blind faith in modernization, AI / IT is a mistake.
It works as long as we introduce the human element
as needed but that's not the direction this is heading.
