Thank you so much for pointing out the flaws of the study. There is so much to gleam from the research that is on point and that has been validated from 30 of 30 research studies according to Gregg Jacobs, Ph.D. from the UMass Medical School, and the principal investigator of the CBT-I program. I am sure that there are caveats that play a factor in mitigating some aspects of the study but not enough to throw out the central premise of getting about 7 hours of sleep that plays a factor in increasing longevity, as well as it enhancing sleep drive.
