Changing directions is a sign of maturity. If I cut bait at this fishing hole, there might just be a monster fish somewhere else down the creek. Unfortunately, we brainwash our kids to have false positive thinking. We also incorrectly teach them that bailing out is for losers. People stay in unhappy relationships, etc. out of a sense of duty and never give up bravado.
