Man Gasping For Breathe
I was hospitalized after I was prescribed atenolol for my high blood pressure. I developed asthma and was prescribed Abuterol. Within a few days -- helped by a recent rise in my Effexor dose -- I became manic and attempted suicide. My Effexor dose came down, but I still had the breathing problem. The next time I visited my cardiologist, I mentioned my recent hospitalization. He checked my medications and realized that it was the atenolol causing my difficult breathing. He took me off of it. My lungs stabilized and I no longer needed the Abuterol. I was able to breathe with no difficulty. With the help of lithium and Lamictal, my moods stabilized.
Sending good thoughts your way. I recently watched "Of Two Minds" and was moved by your story and your art. I hope you will find healing, and I wish you joy and peace.
