Neil Krishan Aggarwal, MD, is a board-certified New York City psychiatrist. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Columbia University, member of its Committee on Global Thought, and Fellow with the Truman National Security Project. His primary areas of interest are how groups create culture and psychology in clinical and forensic mental health settings. He is the author of two books: Mental Health in the War on Terror (2015) and The Taliban's Virtual Emirate (2016). He is finishing his third book on the culture and psychology of the Islamic State which is under contract with Columbia University Press.
