Nancy Schlossberg, Ed.D., attended Barnard College, as well as Teachers College, Columbia University where she earned her doctorate in counseling. She worked at Pratt Institute, Howard University, and Wayne State University. She was the first woman executive at the American Council on Education. She also taught at the University of Maryland, College Park where she now a Professor Emerita. Schlossberg has written nine books, including academic books and self-help trade books—all about transitions.
