Katherine Sharkey MD, Ph.D.

Katherine Sharkey, MD, Ph.D. is associate professor of Medicine and Psychiatry & Human Behavior and Assistant Dean for Women in Medicine and Science at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is Medical Director of the University Medicine Sleep Center, where she maintains a clinical practice, and is the Associate Director of the Sleep for Science Research Laboratory of Brown University. She is board certified in sleep medicine, internal medicine, and psychiatry. Her research focuses on sleep and circadian rhythms as they relate to mood regulation and women's health. Her current research studies are supported the National Institute of Mental Health and the Seleni Institute.
