Dr. Jonathan D. Raskin, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and counseling at the State University of New York at New Paltz. His research focuses on constructivism in psychology and counseling, especially its applications to understanding abnormality and psychotherapy. Constructivists assume that people never know the world independent of a perspective or framework. Thus, they study how people construct meaningful ways to understand themselves and their world. Dr. Raskin is licensed as a psychologist in New York, where he maintains a small private practice. He is also the managing editor of the Journal of Constructivist Psychology.
