Joel Frohlich

Joel Frohlich is a neuroscience PhD student at the University of California, Los Angeles studying electroencephalogram (EEG) biomarkers of neurodevelopmental disorders. He is also a student intern at Hoffmann-La Roche in Basel, Switzerland. Joel is interested in understanding consciousness and other properties of the brain as self-organized, emergent phenomena. Such phenomena arise from complex interactions between simple parts (i.e., information integration between neurons). Joel is a senior editor at Knowing Neurons and has been published in Aeon. Opinions expressed here are solely that of Joel Frohlich and not any employer.
