James C. Kaufman, Ph.D.

James C. Kaufman, Ph.D., is a Professor of Educational Psychology at the Neag School of Education at the University of Connecticut. Kaufman is the author or editor of more than 30 books either published or in press, including Creativity 101 (Springer, 2009) and the Cambridge Handbook of Creativity (Cambridge, 2010; with Robert J. Sternberg). Kaufman is the Past President of APA's Division 10 (Society for the Psychology of Aesthetics, Creativity, and the Arts) and is the founding editor of APA's newest journal, Psychology of Popular Media Culture. In addition, He is the co-editor of the International Journal of Creativity and Problem Solving. He has won awards from APA's Division 10, Mensa, NAGC, and WPA. He is also a playwright/lyricist, has written a book about baseball, and is married with two boys, three dogs, a cat, and probably a fish.
