Erin Leyba, L.C.S.W., Ph.D., is an individual and marriage therapist in Chicago’s western suburbs. She specializes in helping parents process life changes, reconnect with each other, work toward goals, and overcome challenges so they can enjoy the times when their children are young. As an integrative therapist, Dr. Leyba draws on Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology approaches. She is the founder and facilitator of the Mindful Parent Network, growth/discussion groups for parents who are interested in parenting with mindfulness and joy. Author of the forthcoming book Joyful Parenting, Dr. Leyba speaks at parent groups, child care centers, and businesses on mindfulness, joyful parenting, self-care, developing close relationships with children, joy in the workplace, and strengthening marriages/partnerships. She has taught a variety of master’s- and doctoral-level social work courses at the University of Chicago, Loyola University, the Institute for Clinical Social Work, and the University of Illinois at Chicago and received the UIC Provost Award for her research on strengths-based social work.
