Clair Brown, Ph.D.

Clair Brown, Ph.D., an economics professor at UC Berkeley, is the author of  Buddhist Economics: An Enlightened Approach to the Dismal Science (Bloombury Press, 2017). She teaches an undergraduate seminar, Buddhist Economics, and  works with graduate students in Development Engineering to create new technologies to improve people's well-being in poor regions. Clair is developing a holistic measurement of economic performance for California that incorporates people' s quality of life, equity, and protection of the environment.
