Cathy Scott is a fact-based crime writer and investigative journalist whose 12th work, The Crime Book, was released in May 2017 by Dorling Kindersley. Best known for penning The Killing of Tupac Shakur and Murder of a Mafia Daughter, she taught journalism at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas until she left to cover the largest animal rescue in U.S. history following Hurricane Katrina, resulting in the book Pawprints of Katrina. Her ninth book, Murder of a Mafia Daughter, was awarded 2nd place in ForeWord magazine's 2013 Best True Crime Books of the Year. Her work has appeared in New York Times Magazine, New York Post, George magazine, Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Las Vegas Sun and Reuters. Her recent TV appearances include Dateline NBC, Vanity Fair Confidential, "On the Case with Paula Zahn," "Today Show" and A&E.
