Allan Zuckoff Ph.D.

Allan Zuckoff, Ph.D., is a psychologist who has specialized for more than two decades in motivational interviewing (MI), a counseling style that helps people access their own natural, internal motivation and capacity for positive change. Formerly a faculty member in the Departments of Psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh, where his research focused on developing and testing new applications of MI, he is now Director of Training at Vital Decisions, LLC, a provider of MI-based advance care planning facilitation to people with advanced illnesses. Allan has served as chairman of the Board of Directors of the international Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and editor of its online journal, Motivational Interviewing: Training, Research, Implementation, Practice, as well as the MINT Bulletin. He is the author, with Bonnie Gorscak, Ph.D., of Finding Your Way to Change: How the Power of Motivational Interviewing Can Reveal What You Want and Help You Get There.
