Dr. Adam Shunk is a Sport and Performance Neuropsychologist at St. Vincent Sports Performance Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Adam is a licensed psychologist in both the areas of neuropsychology and sport and performance psychology. Dr. Shunk conducts neuropsychological evaluations and directs interventions to assist competitive athletes in both the academic setting and the application of mental skills in the sports arena. He is training in the applied practice of sport and performance psychology as he is involved with individual counseling of athletes and consultation services in sport and performance psychology. Adam is currently consulting with Purdue University athletic department and is establishing an area of specialization in the assessment and management of sports-related concussion.
Adam attained his undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill then went on to earn his M.A. and Ph.D. at Ball State University before completing a two year fellowship at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. Adam was also a competitive high jumper who won an NCAA and USA championship during his career. He competed professionally for NIKE and has represented team USA at the IAAF World Championship and the Pan-American Games. Adam is a native of Muncie, Indiana and currently lives in Fishers, Indiana with his wife Patricia.
