CS Counselling Services, BSW, RSW, Licensed Professional Counsellor in Brampton
Amid a sea of professionals, I fully understand as well as any of my colleagues that when two or more people must cope with similar circumstances or diagnoses, no two human minds or sets of emotions function exactly alike. Therefore, no matter the age, social or ethnic background, or physical capacities, I strive to teach clients how to love themselves through comprehensive, mental, emotional and spiritual enrichment. Overall, the greatest satisfaction to me comes from seeing clients reach self-actualization by gaining strength, confidence and empowerment to confront their own inner conflicts "for we all smile in the same language".
Through 20 years of experience I acquired my niche providing counselling to individuals in group settings for alcohol abuse and anger management. Resulting from these other areas were developed such as: Anxiety, Depression, Domestic Violence, Individual Couple and Family Counselling, Life Transitions, Parent and Teen Conflicts and Women's Issues
I strive to develop relationships founded on trust and respect. The client is the single most valuable individual in his or her life, and our non-judgmental empathetic and trustworthy approach has been seen to affect positive changes in all. My greatest legacy is etched in the hearts of clients.

Alcohol Abuse

Alcoholism is a disease. True, it's treatable, but it's still a very legitimate physiological and psychological disease that can fracture not only lives of addicts, but of the family as well. There are two types of alcoholism, the most common being alcohol abuse, where one continuously drinks excessively to the point that their behavior affects and causes problems socially and professionally. Whereas, an alcohol dependent feels a continuous craving for drinking and may suffer light to severe withdrawal symptoms if they stop. Most importantly, alcoholism is a condition that, once recognized, demands a constant personal awareness in order to avoid relapse.
