Socrates said that the most important thing in life was to care for our souls. Soul is "psyche" in Greek and so caring for our soul also involves knowing about how we think and feel. With this knowing comes pain and suffering. Therapy helps us to know ourselves more so that we can heal, helps us to live our lives in a meaningful way and realize who we truly are.

I like to approach my work with compassion, humor, and authenticity. I work with individuals seeking to recover and grow beyond adverse or challenging life experiences, or who simply want to cultivate a healthy inner life, and I have a special interest in treating anxiety and trauma. I believe that compassionate illumination is what opens the door to transformation, belonging, and interior freedom. So, an important component of my practice is creating a space where people feel safe to open up about hard things. Whatever you're carrying, I'd love to journey with you.

I work with trauma, difficult emotions, and struggles. When it’s the case, I blend in my knowledge of neurodivergence, tailoring classical methodologies to neurodivergent minds. I bring a very culturally attuned vision into the work, factoring in complex family dynamics, historical layers, and social context. I create a welcoming environment where everything you are is taken into consideration. I carefully combine talk therapy with projective techniques and scientifically proven, brain-focused methodologies.

I always learn from the teens, young adults & families I’ve worked with, but this is most important for me to remember: Even behaviors that may appear ineffective from the outside looking in, usually have wisdom at their core. When a person is in pain, they generally want to feel better. My clients all come to therapy because what they’ve been doing to feel better ultimately isn’t working any longer. We work together to address what’s at the core of their pain & focus on managing that more effectively, without negative repercussions. We will together build a set of skills to help them feel more empowered & effective in their life.

The approach I take with my patients varies from one patient to another. Like a "modiste" I "tailor" my sessions, creating a personalised therapeutic plan for each patient. I only work with evidence based therapies that I have been trained in: Behavioural therapy, Cognitive- Behavioural therapy, Family therapy and Humanist therapy. My primary tool is psycho education. I believe in educating the population with evidence based practices while maintaining a close, personal, confidential and safe-space relationship. Some of the most useful tools I use include: semi-structured interviews and functional analysis.

You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or caught in patterns that don’t feel like you. Perhaps you’re managing big emotions, navigating a life transition, or facing challenges that seem invisible to others — like neurodivergence, grief, or hearing loss. You want to feel more grounded, to make sense of your experiences, and to move forward with clarity and strength. My clients are often seeking a safe, understanding space where they can be heard, supported, and empowered toward greater self-acceptance, resilience, and connection.

Hi, I’m Franziska, a Swiss-licensed psychotherapist.
I work with women who have learned to push through, but internally struggle with self-doubt, a sense of not being good enough, and feeling overwhelmed by the expectations of work and motherhood.
Many of the women I work with are well reflected and self-aware. They often understand where their patterns come from but still find themselves reacting in ways they don’t fully understand and can't seem to shift on their own.
This is often the point where they choose to reach out for support.

You have an inner guide, something that is always watching, listening, and speaking about your life. In Jungian analysis, the aim is to align you with that inner GPS. I work with people who feel anxious, depressed, stuck, or somehow disconnected from themselves. People come to me looking for clarity, inner stability, and a way to understand what’s happening beneath the surface of their lives and recurring patterns. I integrate Western depth psychology and mindfulness with Eastern traditions such as yoga, meditation, and the I Ching, and other traditional symbolic systems used to illuminate unconscious processes, not as predictions.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counselling
How can I find a therapist in Zürich?
Search for nearby therapists or counsellors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counsellors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counselling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
