Nice to meet you! My name is Marie-Alix and I enjoy providing a confidential space for people to feel heard, safe, and understood. I create this space by listening to your story with kindness, acceptance and curiosity. I also believe in practical help and therefore will, when appropriate, proactively give you actionable tools to assist your growth. My main goal is to guide you towards feeling confidently autonomous so that ideally you no longer need counseling. Surely, you are always welcome to return as life inevitably takes us through different stages generating new challenges and opportunities for further learning.
I work with young adults and adults from all cultures and backgrounds who are generally well but require some additional support regarding common emotional difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, stress and low self-esteem. I am also a practitioner in the Myers-Briggs Personality Indicator (MBTI) and can help you better understand your personality.
If you feel anxious before the first session, this is completely normal. The first session is a chance to hear more about how I work, to get a sense of whether you feel comfortable with me, and to decide whether my approach will help you move forward. Please do email for more information. Looking forward!
