Drawing from attachment-based therapy, Polyvagal Theory, psychodynamic therapy, CBT, Internal Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy, we'll explore what brought you to this point and where you want to go from here.
Living abroad asks a lot of us. You leave behind familiar people, places, and ways of doing things, then somehow you're expected to keep functioning as if nothing’s changed. Maybe you're struggling with anxiety, loneliness, relationships, or identity. You might be the person everyone sees as capable and independent while privately feeling overwhelmed or stuck. Therapy is a space that’s just for you, where you can slow down, reflect, and care for yourself. I offer English-speaking therapy for expats, students, and teens who want more than symptom relief, they want to understand themselves more deeply and create meaningful change.

At different times in life we may encounter both external and internal difficulties and the psyche talks to us in various ways: sometimes through symptoms of insomnia or depression, anxiety or recurring thoughts, feelings of emptiness and despair - sometimes through inner questions of meaning, an urge to know more and wish to find our place. We may be confronted with personal dilemmas that seem unlikely to be solved, and feel trapped or imprisoned. Jungian psychoanalysis is a journey to find the roots of such difficulties, to better understand the meaning underlying our suffering and to help integrate these insights into our life.

Knowing what to do and being able to do it are often two very different things. You may know you should stop overthinking, let go of obsessive thoughts, cut back on drinking, or handle conflict differently, yet keep finding yourself back in the same place. I specialise in addiction, OCD, anxiety, panic attacks, ADHD, and couples therapy, using practical, research-backed approaches to understand and change the patterns that keep you stuck. Separately from my private practice, I work as a counsellor at an inpatient rehabilitation clinic in Switzerland, supporting patients with complex addiction and mental health conditions.

I specialize in difficulties with emotion regulation, interpersonal relationships, and the relationship with oneself. I help my clients get in touch with their inner child, learn how to listen to their emotions, validate them, and autoregulate in a safe, healthy way. I also help them with escaping vicious circles. To do so, we work together on the problematic behaviors and beliefs relying on openness, kindness, and lack of judgment. I am sensitive to difficulties encountered by sexual minorities LGBTQ+, neurodivergent adults and expats.

Family Therapy Counsellors
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.
How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.
How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.
Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
