Life can be bumpy, sometimes. Change is always happening, be it in love, in work, in health and in the larger world around us. At times it can be useful to have someone by your side to navigate those changes, and increase clarity about the choices available, and the directions you might want to explore. Transitions and transformations are, I believe, what make life interesting - even though tough and rough at intervals. Gaining agency and insight in a place that is non-judgmental will help you make your choices, aligning yourself with your deepest sense of self.

My approach! Coming to therapy can be and in fact it is a bit scary and many questions may possibly arise: What should I say to the therapist ? Will I lie on a couch and the professional will sit behind me with a notebook? Will the therapist tell me what to do and how to do it?! These are a few of the questions that you may have and they are totally normal. Ther is nothing to be ashamed of it. You are on the right path, you already took the first step to liberate those feelings. I strongly believe that the person is not the problem, rather the intended solutions to those problems. It is a changing chance for you to feel liberated.

Are you struggling with repetitive pattern, or symptoms, emotional, affective or psychological issues ? Rather than taking medication and treating the issue on the surface, would you prefer to better understand why this is happening to you, and why it happens ? With more than 23 year of private practice of psychotherapy, I can help you to cope with your situation and, most of the time, turn it into a positive experience. My work focuses on qualitative change, and for that we'll analyze things under the surface.

Humanistic Counsellors

How does humanistic therapy work?

One tenet of humanistic therapy is that people are good. The humanistic approach is concerned with a person’s ability to accept oneself. It likewise encourages a person to overcome self-criticism and self-defeating tendencies, as well as disapproval from others. This approach also emphasizes self-actualisation and treating an individual as a whole person. A foundation of this therapy type: The patient is the expert in their life, and treatment often takes the individual’s lead.

Is humanistic therapy evidence-based?

Humanistic therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has found that humanistic therapy can lead to significant improvement, and for some people it can be just as effective as other therapies, such as Cognitive behavioural therapy. The benefits of humanistic therapy are enduring.

How long does humanistic therapy last?

The goal of humanistic therapy is to understand a person’s day-to-day experiences. While sessions can be short-term and last over a few months, therapy can sometimes continue beyond that and last up to a year or more. And because patients learn the theory behind humanistic therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is humanistic therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with humanistic therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in addressing poor self-esteem and self-sabotage, as well as improving conditions including anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can be long standing, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve learned during treatment.
