My therapeutic approach is a blend of neurobiology, Polyvagal Theory, and attachment oriented psychotherapy with somatic approaches. I believe that a collaborative and trusting relationship is the foundation of effective therapy. My goal in my therapeutic work is to create a space where clients feel safe, accepted, and supported to be curious and explore any and all aspects of themselves and their lives. 

Dr Schneider holds a PhD in Special Education; an MA in Educational Psychology; and an EdS in Language & Reading. She is a ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider (ADHD-CCSP) and a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist (ASDCS). She has extensive training and experience in positive behavioural support and interventions for children with ASDs and ADHD. Dr Schneider is also a member of the American Psychological Association, the International Dyslexia Association and the Learning Disabilities Association of America.

There are always times in life when insecurities, fears or a crisis can occur. In these times it can be helpful to clarify arising questions in an individual setting. It is my intention to offer psychological support in difficult times, while also highlighting your personal strengths and resources.

Whatever difficulties you are experiencing, I am here to help you through a cognitive-behavioural and systemic approaches. That means, I see the person as a part of a system, that is performing several roles (brother/sister, colleague, mother/father, friend, boss, etc). Each one of these roles might be more or less affected by the problem, and modifying one role might impact the rest.

I have over 36 years experience of working with children, young people, adults, couples and families. I have worked with almost every conceivable issue during this time and have no ideal client.

The approach I take with my patients varies from one patient to another. Like a "modiste" I "tailor" my sessions, creating a personalised therapeutic plan for each patient. I only work with evidence based therapies that I have been trained in: Behavioural therapy, Cognitive- Behavioural therapy, Family therapy and Humanist therapy. ​ My primary tool is psycho education. I believe in educating the population with evidence based practices while maintaining a close, personal, confidential and safe-space relationship. Some of the most useful tools I use include: semi-structured interviews and functional analysis.

I support clients of all ages who are currently struggling with their psychological well-being. I have experience of working with children, teenagers, young adults, adults and couples both in school and therapeutic settings.

I am a clinical psychologist with more than 12 years experience working with the expatriate and international community in Basel. Using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and other evidence-based approaches, I work with children, teenagers and adults with emotional, behavioural, and developmental disorders and have extensive experience in issues related to sociocultural adjustment. I am a solution-focused clinical hypnotherapist and professional counsellor, and I have been helping people overcome personal struggles since 2016. ​I specialise in supporting people with anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, and autoimmune conditions. I have a particular affinity to working with teenagers, after overcoming debilitating panic attacks and low self-esteem as an adolescent myself. All ages are welcome!
