Who We Are
Founded in 1993 and located in Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island, Together We Can is one of Canada's premier treatment centres for men struggling with substance misuse issues. Our mission is to educate and support individuals and their families who desire a new life in recovery. We provide an immersive 60-90 day recovery-based primary addiction treatment experience and hosts an on-site medical clinic staffed by three physicians, a dietician, and a Registered Nurse. The medical clinic offers medication stabilization, detox/withdrawal management, and continued after-care. Together We Can offers a free program for families composed of an education group, grief and loss support group, and peer-based support meeting. Our staff and volunteers understand that long-term recovery is most successful when people are provided with health and wellness supports for physical, mental, and emotional healing. Our continuum of care includes residential and outpatient addiction treatment, transitional housing, after-care, and alumni initiatives. Our Approach
Together We Can recognizes that addiction is a chronic, progressive illness and that abstinence is only the beginning of recovery. Individuals participating in our program develop an awareness of how their thoughts and beliefs block them from wellness and inner peace. Each person learns to take personal responsibility for making positive and healthy new choices for themselves. A key aspect of recovery is learning how to heal interpersonal relationships. The shift from feeling alone and isolated to being connected and feeling "a part of" is vital for our program. We provide a safe, therapeutic community environment for people to begin their pursuit of a new way of life. Our addiction treatment programs, supported recovery houses, continuing care, and alumni initiatives provide residents with an integrated approach to recovery. What We Treat
Together We Can treats individuals with all types of substances misuse habits and out-of-control compulsive behaviours. Our clinical team operates under the theory that addictive behaviour is a by-product of an underlying condition. We believe that an intensive holistic and therapeutic process is required to empower individuals to see the world, and themselves, from a new and more solution-based perspective. Problem-solving, cognitive behavioural therapy, health and wellness, community, and relationship-building are essential components of recreating one's sense of purpose and altering the trajectory of a life. Together We Can welcomes any person who desires to turn a new leaf and reset the direction that their life is heading. Often, the family needs to guide their loved ones towards help; once the family member arrives, we're here to teach them where they need to go. Family Education Group
TWC offers a comprehensive, four-session Family & Friends Education Group (FFEG) that educates and supports family members to better understand addiction. The sessions are a source of knowledge, support, and connection for family members. Sharing similar experiences in a safe and comforting environment allows families to heal together. A free weekly open grief group, using your peers, support, and education to further help you along your journey. The meetings are open to anyone, and there is no cost to attend.
