Our mission is to educate and support individuals and their families who desire a new life in recovery. We provide an immersive 60-90 day recovery-based primary addiction treatment experience and hosts an on-site medical clinic staffed by three physicians, a dietician, and a Registered Nurse. The medical clinic offers medication stabilization, detox/withdrawal management, and continued after-care. Together We Can offers a free program for families composed of an education group, grief and loss support group, and peer-based support meeting. While other programs focus on abstinence or reducing harm, we believe that the recovery process needs to move beyond mere healing. Our programs are based largely on the theory and practice of Meaning-Centered Therapy (MCT), developed by psychologist Dr. Paul T. P. Wong. Venture Academy is Canada’s first and longest running private, direct access, adolescent residential program. Since 2001, Venture Academy has been providing assessment, treatment and educational support services for struggling teens, ages 12-18, suffering from mental health issues, substance use and other emotional or behavioural challenges. Our program is licensed and accredited and heavily focused on strength building. Families are actively involved in the treatment process to improve the success of their child. Venture Academy has served over 1,600 youth and families from every corner of the country and internationally. We offer short-term intervention with a focus on assessment and stabilization as well as longer-term treatment focused on sustainable change and positive treatment outcomes. We can usually schedule an admission quickly following the approval of the child’s application.
