We know all too well how substance-use or drug addiction can spiral out of control and leave a family frustrated and confused.. We believe bringing in professional help to provide the needed support in this process of healing is the best idea. The intervention professional you choose to help you at this time is going to make a big difference. There are 2 basic types of intervention approaches, Confrontational and Non-Confrontational. Most intervention professionals will use a confrontational approach, and this confrontational approach may be appropriate in extreme circumstances, especially when someone’s life is in serious risk due to their substance use, but for a lot of individuals the confrontational approach just doesn’t work. Therefore, you might get the individual into treatment, but once there, they’re angry and bitter and don’t engage because of the way they’ve been forced into participating, so the treatment process ends up being unsuccessful. Our non-confrontational approach is based in Community Reinforcement and Family Training, or CRAFT. This non-confrontational evidence based approach has the best success in getting people into treatment with the right mindset. Family Program & Aftercare
Recovery often starts with the support of an intervention followed by addiction treatment, but often family wellness and aftercare support are overlooked. A personalized aftercare program is a critical part of the recovery process. Starting over with all the challenges someone will face after treatment can be daunting. We will create a personalized aftercare plan that will ensure your loved one has continuing community support and help after completing treatment. Aftercare support has been shown to increase the odds of success while reducing the likelihood of relapse. Additionally, if the individual completes treatment and returns home to damaged family relationships and conflict they can rapidly descend back into the substance use pattern. This why it is so important for the family to receive education and support as well. Our family program is designed to provide counselling for family members and to restore healthy communication and balance into their relationships.
