Our clinic specialized in the assessment and treatment of emotional difficulties, specifically eating disorders, personality disorders, and trauma. Our clients may struggle with anorexia, bulimia, ARFID, rumination syndrome, and binge eating disorder. Often they have tried other treatments with limited success. Our approaches are designed for those with emotional overcontrol (e.g., rigid, rule-bound, perfectionistic, isolated, lonely) or undercontrol (e.g., impulsive, suicidal, self-harm, interpersonal dysregulation, identity disturbance) and for those with PTSD and trauma-related difficulties (e.g., intrusive thoughts, hypervigilance).

For those who are struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, or work-related trauma, a stable treatment program can make the difference between recovery and relapse. But putting your family and career on hold to receive inpatient treatment is a disruption many people aren’t able to make. Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) provide effective treatment for substance addictions, mental illness, and trauma/PTSD. Offered online across Canada and in-person at select locations, the 8-week intensive program offers 9 hours per week of group and individual therapy sessions, followed by 10 months of Aftercare sessions to support ongoing recovery. These evidence-based programs use proven therapeutic techniques and psychoeducation to help patients learn the tools and skills they need to achieve long-term recovery. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Behavioural Activation Therapy (BA).

Karibu Mental Health Network was born in response to the growing need for mental health professionals who can navigate the mental health experiences of clients beyond Western models of understanding illness, health and healing. The Kyla Fox Centre is the first of its kind private eating disorder recovery centre in Toronto. We provide a full spectrum of individualized and custom tailored treatment. This ranges from those who require an intensive treatment program (7 days per week, supervised meals) through to those who have established more stability in recovery, requiring work around transitioning back into life and relapse prevention.
