I work with older teens and adults who are often searching for improved coping skills and more intentional enjoyment of their lives. I believe in each person's ability to grow, learn, and transform longstanding patterns that have been interfering with their wellbeing. I have 9 years of experience working in community, hospital and CLSC settings. I currently work at Dawson College, where I assist youth and young adults struggling with anxiety, panic symptoms, self-esteem issues, perfectionism, OCD and intrusive thoughts, relationship issues and sexual violence.
I am a clinical social worker and psychotherapist by training. I draw primarily on techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS) and emotionally-focused therapy (EFT). I try to strike a balance between helping you find solutions to problems, and growing your inner-wisdom.
I believe that any issue that is weighing on you is worth discussing. I trust that you hold a lot of insight that will help us bring you closer to your goals, even if you are not used to discussing your experiences and emotions.
