Do emotions come on fast, hit hard and feel impossible to control; do you ever feel like the smallest thing can result in an intense emotional response? Is there a sense that you need to "be on" and alert at all times? Do you feel disconnected, detached, numb or like you are on auto-pilot, and struggle with knowing what you think, feel or need? My goal is to offer a space that provides compassion and safety as we work together to increase awareness and understanding of yourself, connect with a sense of regulation and settling, and supports the conditions needed for recovery from stress and trauma, leading to growth and healing.

When you come into the space, prepare to laugh, cry, and heal. Therapy is a journey, sometimes messy, always meaningful. But I’ll always make space for you to land, feel seen, and be heard. If you feel weighed down by anxiety, trauma, or the pressure to “keep it all together", we’ll explore how your experiences have shaped you, uncover your strengths, and help you reconnect with your authentic self. I also support couples in strengthening communication, rebuilding trust after infidelity, and navigating life’s transitions together. Whether you’re trying to reconnect, repair after betrayal, or gain clarity about the future.

My ideal clients are adults and couples seeking support for challenges such as stress, communication, anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, self-esteem, body image, intimacy, or relationship issues. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves or others and want to find balance, clarity, and tools to move forward. Couples I work with often seek to rebuild or deepen their connection, improve communication, and resolve recurring conflicts. These clients are motivated by a desire for greater emotional well-being, healthier boundaries, and more fulfilling relationships.

You don’t have to face the darkness alone. I work with individuals who feel trapped by suicidal thoughts, self-harm, trauma, anxiety, or addiction—people who are searching for relief, connection, and a sense of hope. My role is to provide a safe, compassionate space where your pain is met without judgment, and where healing becomes possible at your own pace. Together, we’ll work to understand what lies beneath the suffering, strengthen your coping tools, and rediscover a sense of meaning and self-worth. Change begins with being heard—and I’m here to listen and walk alongside you.

It is hard right now. You didn't ask for this. But it needs attention. Whatever "this" is – whether it’s the heartbreak of loss, old wounds, a troubling pattern of behaviour, or an unrelenting inner critic - it is an invitation to look inside. This can be terrifying, but it is also our best bet for moving towards greater self-understanding, connection and peace. In doing this work, it is critical that we feel safe, supported and connected to others and to ourselves. With the right support, you can get to the root of what is holding you back and create space for something new as you navigate life's complexities.

I provide meaningful support to those seeking positive change, self-understanding, and a desire to live more fully and authentically — in connection with themselves and others. Many of my clients are adults in their 20s and 30s — including early-to-mid career professionals and students — navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, the search for meaning, or the lingering impact of childhood trauma. I am a gentle and curious therapist, and I bring compassion, honesty, and a quality of stubbornness that I hope will be seen as an unfaltering commitment to support your journey and wellbeing.

Many of us have experienced adversity in our lives, including myself. Whether it is trauma, chronic pain/illness, racial discrimination or struggles, grief and loss, or depression/anxiety, these experiences often leave us feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally drained. My experiences have taught me that each person experiences adversity differently, and therefore, requires a unique approach for their unique experiential reality. Moreover, I believe that every person has the desire, capacity, and ability to heal and experience growth.

I believe the quality of the therapeutic relationship is crucial to the effectiveness of psychotherapy. My goal as therapist is to establish a relationship with my client that will allow me to effectively understand them in a nonjudgmental way and challenge them to grow and gain new perspective. I seek to be emotionally present, authentic, respectful, open, honest, and deeply empathic. In building on my client's existing inner strengths, they are empowered to seek and make the changes needed to live full and satisfying lives.

Life sometimes takes us through detours and bumps along the way. While we can often manage some challenges on our own, others may feel heavier and harder to carry without support. If you or anyone you know are facing struggles with managing relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, addiction, ADHD, emotion dysregulation, brain injury, stress, life transitions, domestic violence or intergenerational cultural challenges, I am here to support you. Together, through compassionate, non-judgmental conversations and practical skill-building, we will work toward the goals that matter most to you.

Trauma impacts all areas of our lives and can leave us in a constant state of discomfort, anxiety, or feeling unsafe in our own bodies and the world. We might find ourselves reacting in ways that make us feel out of control. Our relationships might suffer, and we might turn to food, work, substances, or other distractions to try and get away from thoughts and feelings about what happened to us. Sometimes we might even feel like there are parts of us that think and feel different things. Trauma can come in the form of accidents, abuse, neglect, minority stress, bullying, micro aggressions, assault, or conversion therapy to name a few

Have you ever felt like talking to someone supportive and impartial about what you are feeling or issues you are facing? You are not alone even though it often feels that way. We are hardwired for connection, so when those bonds are challenged or broken in childhood or adulthood, the pain is real because this affects how we see ourselves and the world around us. This can create anxiety, depression and self-worth issues. Some examples of clients I often see are neurodiverse clients with autism, ADHD, OCD, and/or dyslexia, couples/individuals with relationship struggles, grief, burnout and stress.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.

Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?

Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.

Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
