About
I am a Registered Psychotherapist and Parenting Coach. I have educated and supported families for almost 30 years throughout Simcoe County. I am the owner of In Support Of Children Counselling where I provide individual and family counselling to children, teens, parents and families. I believe that knowledge is power and therefore my focus is to educate my clients by teaching them strategies and coping tools that will help them cope more effectively. I am also a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. My website is - insupportofchildren.com
When working with youth, I utilize art and play based activities to explore feelings and teach specific concepts like managing difficult emotions like anger. I use frameworks of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Strengths Based Therapy. My goal is to create an atmosphere for success with experiences that help build their self esteem and confidence.
Today our families are dealing with different stresses including Covid19. As a Registered Psychotherapist I love to share my knowledge and experiences with families. I sincerely believe that my role is to empower children and their families by teaching them effective tools - overcome today's obstacles, become resilient and find hope for the future.

Wendy Hunter's Groups
Parent Education and Coaching
Being a parent is one of the most important roles we will have. However, children don't arrive with a users manual. This parent education group will arm parents with knowledge to understand their children and coping strategies that will support parents through the various stages that children travel through. It is a strengths based group that will empower parents to help their children thrive in their family. This group will be offered, based on interest, in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach or Barrie.
Fear-Less parent anxiety group
This is a brand new program that teaches parents how to help their children deal with anxiety. It is offered both individually and in group format. Its created by Triple P Parenting.
