I am someone that is very compassionate, kind and curious. I believe that everyone has the inherent right to choose and to live a wholehearted life that’s fulfilling and abides by their own personal values. My goal is to create an environment where clients can feel comfortable to explore their experiences without judgement. Everyone will be valued & welcomed as they are. Together, we will work towards helping you achieve your counselling goals. The main focus will be on your strengths and resources, and to develop new ways of dealing with life's challenges.
My work is based on an eclectic approach with an emphasis on client-centered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also incorporate trauma focused approaches such as EMDR and others like DBT, narrative therapy and Internal Family Systems. My focus areas are in Anxiety, Depression, Teen issues, Teen mental health, Family Issues, Caregiver stress, Abuse.
Whether you have been to therapy before or this is your first time, I realize that it can be tough; it does require allowing oneself to be vulnerable, open, and honest. We will work at your own pace to build a collaborative and healing relationship. I consider it a privilege any time I get to join a portion of life's journey with clients who seek my support.
