If your child is struggling at home, at school, with peers, or dealing with difficult life experiences, you as a caregiver can feel at a loss for what to do. As a therapist, I tap into each young person's innate coping skills and creativity, by providing an accepting space for self-expression and growth, and new skills. I also know that parents need support and ideas about how to help children navigate through life, so I involve families in treatment in many creative ways. I partner with you and the important people in your child's life, such as teachers, caregivers and other professionals to better support your family.
I carefully choose therapy approaches/suggestions for each child and family based on their unique needs and current challenges. I offer play therapy as well as other proven forms of counselling, assessment, and practical strategies to improve functioning in all areas of your child's life, including school, child care, home, and social environments.
Over many years as an educator and Master's level mental health therapist for children 0-19, including those with all kinds of disabilities, I have refined my skills in adapting treatments and consultation services for any child and family.
